It has been another busy month in Moira Shire with the Councillors and staff working on the proposed Budget 2022/23, and now it is your turn to have a say.

We are seeking community, business and stakeholder comments on this document, a key strategic plan aiming to balance the many and often competing needs of the Moira community.

This budget was prepared with the aims of safeguarding communities and staff, looking after assets, consolidating the capital works program, maximising the opportunity of regional travel and migration through tourism and sustainable development, plus advocating for the Moira Shire community with other levels of government.

There are two exciting events coming soon - the 2022 Moira Business Achievement Awards and the Moira Midwinter Festival.

Nominations will open shortly for businesses in multiple categories to be considered as finalists for the Business Awards with the community encouraged to vote in coming weeks.

Stay tuned for all the details on how to participate in this important event, acknowledging the hard work, success and dedication of businesses across Moira Shire.

Commencing in Yarrawonga on June 10, the Moira Midwinter Festival is designed to encourage people to experiment with ideas and interact with art as part of their everyday lives.

Central to the Festival will be an outdoor gallery and performing space, moving to each of the main towns throughout June and July, and we have asked our local artists to supply artwork focussing on the theme of Our People, Our Environment.

Moira Midwinter will be open Friday to Wednesday from 10am - 4pm with activities for all ages and abilities on offer.
