Here is a collection of useful guides, websites, and templates designed to support event organisers in planning and hosting successful events. This toolkit focuses on creating experiences that are safe, environmentally responsible, and accessible to all, while ensuring compliance with all necessary approvals and regulations. Whether you’re organising a small community gathering or a large-scale corporate event, these resources will help you streamline your planning process and deliver an event that meets best-practice standards.

Road Closure

Who owns the road?

1. Not all roads are owned by council, some are owned by the Department of Transport and you will need to seek approval from the correct owner. Check for arterial roads here

2.If the road that is affected is owned by Department of Transport, or if you want to place signs on their road reserves you will need To apply for a memorandum of authorisation permit

If council owns the road please follow the below link to our Temporary road closure page.

Is Public Transport impacted?

This may be directly by blocking routes driven by public transport operators or because of increased need for the service due to the event. Please go to Public Transport Victoria for further advice and to notify them of your event.
