Cullens Boat Ramp - main.jpg

The project to upgrade the recreational facilities at the Yarrawonga Commons will occur in two stages:

Stage One:

The existing boat ramp will be extended by 5 meters and then duplicated creating a two lane boat ramp. This will occur during winter while the Murray River is low.

Stage Two:

The second stage will include improvements to the access road to the boat ramp from Cullens Road, Yarrawonga and improvements to the parking area. This portion will occur in the warmer, hopefully drier spring.

Updates

Friday 22 December 2023

Cullens Boat Ramp will open on Sunday 24 December 2023. Thank you to our staff and contractors who worked hard since the water level dropped to have the boat ramp ready before Christmas.

Friday 1 December 2023

Our contractors have completed works above the waterline.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to complete works below the waterline due to high water flows over the last 6 months.

We have received information that the water flow is now expected to drop from Yarrawonga Weir and this will allow our contractors to recommence work below the waterline as of Monday 4 December 2023.

Our aim is to have the boat ramp operational by the Christmas/New Year period with some surrounding works completed after January, however this will depend on water flows over the next 4 weeks.

This project has been jointly funded by Moira Shire Council, The Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Funding, the Victorian Government through the Recreational Fishing and Camping Facilities Program and Better Boating Victoria's Boating Safety and Facilities Program.
