What is Moira doing to save water?
We understand that water is valuable resource and have practices in place to reduce the amount of water used to maintain our parks and gardens.
Public toilets are dual flush and spring loaded basin taps prevent the use of excess water
Fallen and pruned trees are chipped and this mulch is used on our gardens to minimise watering
Subsurface drip irrigation is used where possible to minimise water loss
Water tanks are used at depots for filling water carts for watering gardens
Plants are selected to suit our local climate to minimise water use and maintenance
