Improvements works at Thompsons Beach will recommence during the week of 15 September 2025.
Upcoming works include:
- Construction of an accessible parking area to the right of the kiosk/toilet block
- Renewal of the east BBQ shelter
- Construction of a park shelter on the eastern side of the foreshore
The east BBQ will be closed and unavailable for use from Monday 15 September for up to four weeks. The west BBQ area near the playground will be available for use.
The accessible carpark works will not restrict access to the toilet block or remainder of the carpark.
April 2025
Improvement works at Thompsons Beach will recommence from 28 April 2025, with several upgrades underway to improve the area for the community.
Upcoming works include:

Construction of footpaths along the foreshore to improve access and connect key infrastructure

Installation of all-abilities car parking spaces near the toilet facilities

Installation of shade structures to provide relief during warmer months

Renewal of park furniture to provide additional seating

Renewal of bollards along the carpark to connect with the natural environment.

Upgrades of signage, landscaping, and installation of additional artwork.
Some areas of the foreshore will be temporarily closed during the works. Council and contractors will work to minimise disruption wherever possible.
The playground and artwork installation have already been completed and are ready for the community to enjoy.
May 2024
The playground at Thompsons Beach, Cobram officially opened. Moira upgrades around the playground are expected to commence before the end of the year, including new sheltered seating areas, picnic tables, new paths, artwork and signage.
