Applications are closing soon for Council’s Community Strengthening Grants Program with grants up to $10,000 on offer.
Mayor Libro Mustica said this grants program aimed to provide funding for arts and culture; community events; health promotion; and environmental sustainability.
“It is a great way to kick start a community initiative and is a vital function of Council,” Cr Mustica said.
“The grants, up to $10,000, help facilitate projects which enrich the whole community and can assist in the development of service, management of facilities, the coordination of events and promotion of health or environmental sustainability in the community.”
Cr Mustica said people could apply online by visiting Council’s website.
“There is one small change to the process this year which applicants must be aware of,” he said.
“If the project is on Council land or at a facility owned by Council you will need to complete a Community Project Proposal Form.
“Applicants are encouraged to read the Community Strengthening Grants Guidelines which include information on eligibility, exclusions and terms and conditions prior to applying.”
Applications close Thursday 24 March.
