Yarrawonga's new Multisport Stadium is now visible on the town's skyline.
Moretto Building has made quick progress at the Showground site this month.
Most of the structural steel framework is now up, and the precast panels have been stood up. Together they give the building its form.
Crews have installed the external hydraulic services, preparing the fire safety system, water, drainage and sewer pipework and that will serve the buildings amenities.
They are also preparing the ground for the concrete floor, which will become the foundation for the courts.
When complete, the two-court facility will host sports such as basketball, netball, badminton, table tennis, volleyball and futsal.
Spectator seating, community classes and events will also be part of the venue.
The building will also include a café, multipurpose room, first aid room, Changing Place and accessible changerooms.

Steel Framework Installation Begins
Exciting news for Yarrawonga as the much-anticipated Multisport Stadium takes shape.
Structural Steel materials have been delivered to site and installation of the structural framework is now underway. Moretto Building, awarded the tender for the $16 million project, will be utilising local contractors to deliver the two-court indoor sports facility.
Next step: Underground services approaching the site are nearing to be finalised and fire tanks installed. The structural steel will continue to be stood up across early September and the panelling to follow soon after.

April 2026
Construction work has started on the new Yarrawonga Multisport Stadium. Moretto Building began construction of the much-anticipated community project on Monday 13 April 2026.

December 2025
Moretto Building has been working hard since being awarded the design and construct tender for the Yarrawonga Multisport Stadium. Concept designs and initial investigations are complete, and onsite civil works have begun, including drainage basin and pipe installation. Construction drawings are nearing completion, with major works expected to start in 2026.
March 2025
Moira Shire Council has appointed Moretto Building to deliver the major Yarrawonga Multisport Stadium project, a key milestone toward construction. The stadium will provide modern facilities for a range of sports and community activities.
December 2024
Tender applications for design and construction of the Yarrawonga Multisport Stadium are now closed. A detailed assessment process will be underway and announcement on the successful tenderer will be made in 2025.

December 2023
The December Scheduled Council Meeting appointed the members for the Yarrawonga Multisport Stadium Fundraising Committee. The committee will plan, implement and coordinate fundraising activities to raise $750,000 for the development of the Multisport Stadium.

The concept design for Stage 1,2 and 3 is currently with Council. Stage 1 has been approved to progress to a detailed design with N2SH Design Studio.
