Numurkah, Katunga & Strathmerton Corridor Plan

The Numurkah, Katunga and Strathmerton Corridor Plan (the Corridor Plan) details initiatives and actions to ensure the Corridor and its settlements of Strathmerton, Katunga and Numurkah achieve their economic and social potential. The Corridor is a place to live and invest. The Corridor’s water, sunshine, soils, connectivity, enterprise and people provide the perfect combination of conditions to propel growth, innovation and investment.

The Corridor Plan sets out a vision and directions to guide the Corridor’s next phase of growth over a 5-to-20-year horizon. This includes actions that support the expansion of key industries, grow the Corridor’s housing, facilitate local jobs growth, attract investment and reduce the prevalence of escape expenditure. Moira Shire is a vibrant community known for its rich agricultural heritage in the “Food Bowl” of Australia. The Corridor Plan is a proactive step by Moira Shire Council at a time when the Corridor’s contribution to national food supply and security is increasingly important.

The Corridor Plan includes an advocacy agenda that is about working in partnership with government agencies and investors to deliver the foundational infrastructure needed for the Corridor to grow.
