Moira Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) to lease and activate a prominent Cobram building as part of the recently completed Cobram piazza.

General Manager Community Sally Rice said the EOI process was an opportunity to further explore the community and business ideas that had been proposed during the development of Council's Visitor Services Strategy.
We are looking for a private operator to activate this iconic building and submissions could include the development of the facility into a dynamic hospitality venture with a dedicated Visitor Information Point," Ms Rice said.
"This building sits adjacent to the new 'piazza' area in Cobram and is currently used as a council-operated Visitor Information Centre.
"This facility has traditionally been used to serve the needs of visitors to Cobram and through this EOI process we hope to reactivate the underutilised areas to better service the modern-day needs and interests of local residents and visitors.
"The process will allow anyone to put a proposal together for consideration by Council.
"There is no guarantee we will receive an acceptable proposal and if a lease doesn't go ahead, the facility will continue to be managed by Council.

"Importantly, while this process is underway there will be no changes to the operation of the facility."
Ms Rice said Council was 'testing the market' to see if there is someone with the expertise and imagination to activate the site.
"We are open to all ideas and proposals and encourage anyone with an interest to visit our website or call our Customer Service team for further information," she said.
All submissions are to be lodged electronically and the submission period will close 5pm Wednesday 18 March 2020.
