Moira Shire Council has received $29,700 to implement the Artly – Let’s Stay Connected program.

This program involves weekly, online therapeutic art sessions as well as supplying the necessary art materials.

Mayor Libro Mustica said this program would help the community access vital support and social connection in a new and innovative way.

“These sessions will build meaningful and fun connections, support positive mental health and provide a digital network and sharing opportunities for the community,” Cr Mustica said.

“The program will be led by Council and is closely supported by Art in Architecture, an experienced provider of art-based programs.

“It will teach innovative drawing skills proven to promote relaxation, create positive memories and enhance feelings of wellbeing and social connectivity.

“The program will also allow participants to meet and connect with people in new ways, allowing new networks to be formed in the wider community.

To apply go to our website; places will be assigned on a 'first-in' basis and registration closes 18 January 2021.

Please note, registration requires a postal address so your art materials pack can be sent directly to you.
