Do you want to have input into what Moira Shire will look like in the future? Moira Shire Council is calling for community representatives to form a diverse panel to discuss and plan a long-term vision for the shire.

Mayor Libro Mustica said Council wanted anyone who was passionate about the Shire to put their hands up to be part of the panel.

“We want people from across our vast Shire to bring their ideas - everything is on the table,” Cr Mustica said.

“We have had a great response from our older citizens and we really want to hear from other groups too– if you live, work or study in the shire, get in touch.

“This long-term vision will be owned by the community and will form an integral part of shaping the work that Council does over the next ten years and beyond.”

“This engaging and energising workshop will involve meaningful discussions to creatively build a community vision for Moira Shire,” he said.

Moira Shire CEO, Clare Keenan, said the panel would come together for a few hours each day over the weekend of 31 July and 1 August to participate in an independently facilitated workshop. “This timing is to ensure we get input from people who wouldn’t be able to make it during the week.

Panellists will be supported with transport to and from the workshop and will be financially compensated for their time to contribute to their costs, for example, child care.”
