Festive Funding successful recipients

Congratulations to all the community organisations that were funded through the festive grants program! 

Community organisations across Moira Shire were encouraged to apply for a grant from Council’s Festive Fund.  The funding was designed to assist in decorating towns leading up to Christmas or even to hold an event to celebrate the festive season.

Up to $1,000 was made available to organisations in small towns and up to $2,000 in the four main towns to decorate or run an event. 

The following organisations and projects were funded:

Strathmerton Community Steering Committee

A celebration to open the town mural celebrating aboriginal culture. Celebration will include Christmas carols and decorations.

 

Tungamah & District Lions Club Inc.

A community BBQ and Christmas Carols at the Boyd St Reserve Tungamah.

 

Katamatite Community Group

Decorate the town with festive lights, Christmas tree and decorations.

 

St James Silo Art Committee Inc.

Decorate the town and a community dinner in the St James Hall, St James.

 

Cobram Barooga Tourism - Partnering with Barooga Advancement Group

A community Christmas carols that attracts over 1000 attendees.

 

Kaarimba Public Hall Inc.

A free Christmas party to be held at the hall grounds and to reconnect and thank residents after the recent flood event.

 

Wunghnu & District Voice Inc.

Decorate the town with festive lights to highlight the town as the gateway to Moira Shire.

 

Yarrawonga Mulwala Tourism

Decorate Yarrawonga Town Hall, Belmore St, The Grove Open Air Theatre and shop windows.

 

Waaia Community Plan

Decorate the town of Waaia and purchase decorations.

 

Numurkah Love Our Lifestyle

Decorate Melville St and Newman Square with solar rope lighting.

 

Barmah Social Club

Festive lighting around Barmah township.

 

Picola Silo Group

Festive lighting around the Picola Silo.
