Concreters, plumbers and gas fitters, electricians, painters, arborists and building maintenance contractors have until Wednesday 26 July to submit their tender application to join Moira Shire Council’s new Asset Maintenance Panel.

Moira Shire General Manager Infrastructure Andrew Close said the panel was for contractors regularly used in urgent or scheduled repair and maintenance of Council assets.

“We are looking for a variety of trades to be placed on our panel – from sparkies to concreters,” Mr Close said.

“There are several benefits of being on our panel – it makes it easier for Council to engage a contractor; gives us a list of suitably qualified tradesmen, and helps us comply with expenditure limit thresholds in the Local Government Act,” said Mr Close.

“Being on the panel means we can call on our list of tradies when we need them with the minimum of fuss as we know they are ready to do business with us,” Mr Close said.

Council will continue to undertake public tenders as required for major works and contracts.

“Help is available for those tradies who are not confident with the computer.  They just need to book an appointment and someone will help set them up in the system,” said Mr Close.

You can apply via the Tenders and Quotations section of Council’s website.

Applications close at 4pm Wednesday 26 July.
