Council is seeking a community representative to join the board of the Goulburn Valley Regional Library Corporation (GV Libraries), to help shape the next chapter for library services across Moira, Strathbogie and Greater Shepparton Municipalities.

CEO Mark Henderson said the position required a person with a passion and a vision for library services in the region.

“As a board member you are a key player in setting the direction for libraries and library services across the Goulburn Valley region,’ Mr Henderson said.

“We are keen to hear from community members who are interested in taking on this important role for our communities and across the wider region.”

GV Libraries is an independent organisation, jointly funded by the three municipalities and operating under its own charter and board structure.

The board comprises nine representatives including a councillor, officer and community representative from each of the partner councils.

Mr Henderson said while an understanding of board governance is desirable, Council was keen to identify a representative with a genuine desire to improve library services throughout the region.

Council will consider all Expressions of Interest that are received by 5pm Friday 5 March 2021.
