To address concerns about road safety, pedestrian access and traffic management for students, teachers and residents traveling between Nathalia Secondary College, St Francis Primary School, Nathalia Primary School, St Mary of the Angels Secondary College and Nathalia Sports and Community Centre Moira Shire Council are installing a Raised Intersection at Pearce Street and Chapel Street along with a footpath on the south side of Pearce Street to provide a connection between Chapel Street and Robertson Street.
This will include replacing the existing children’s crossing on Pearce Street with a pedestrian crossing to provide 24-hour pedestrian priority crossing of Pearce Street and a new pedestrian crossing on Chapel Street.

These works are estimated at $225,000, of which $100,000 is funded through the Local Government Grant program through the TAC.
The project is currently under detailed design for delivery as part of the 2024/25 capital works program. Council is committed to delivering this project by 30 June 2026.
