Katamatite 150th Anniversary Celebration

Katamatite turns 150 in 2026 and we’re celebrating properly.

Join us for a three-day community celebration at the Katamatite Recreation Reserve from Friday 20 March to Sunday 22 March 2026.
 

Friday 20 March

Community Dinner at Boosey Creek Tavern & The Tin Shed Bistro. A relaxed evening to reconnect and kick off the weekend.
 

Saturday 21 March – Main Celebration Day

Formal proceedings from 11:30am to 1:45pm, followed by an afternoon of family fun including live demonstrations, historical displays, kids’ activities, music, food vendors, BBQ and the running of the Katamatite Gift (150m sprint).

 

Sunday 22 March

Community commemoration led by the Katamatite Historical Society, including open house displays and the burial of a time capsule.
 
This weekend is about honouring our history, reconnecting with former residents and celebrating the people who make Katamatite what it is.
