Moira Shire Council is inviting community feedback on the draft Numurkah, Katunga, and Strathmerton Growth Corridor Strategy, a 20-year plan to guide economic development, land use, infrastructure and advocacy through this vital economic corridor.

The draft strategy outlines specific actions to address local challenges and opportunities within the corridor. It also lays the groundwork for future Corridor Planning Policy, with a focus on housing and support for our region’s unique industries.

Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator, Dr Graeme Emonson PSM, encourages all residents, businesses and stakeholders to review the draft and share their views.

“The strategic priorities promote the corridor’s unique agriculture and horticultural industries, and sets a long-term vision for the Numurkah, Katunga, and Strathmerton corridor to be a thriving regional hub that supports social and economic wellbeing for residents and businesses and embraces our natural environment,” Dr Emonson said.

“The Growth Corridor is one of Victoria’s leading agricultural areas and it’s ready to grow. We welcome community feedback on the draft strategy to support this important work.”

Community input will help shape the final strategy and ensure it reflects local aspirations.
