Construction of the Cobram Community Soccer Pavilion has been completed and was officially opened this week by Federal Member for Nicholls Damian Drum and Mayor Libro Mustica.

Mayor Mustica thanked the Federal Government for $615,000 Building Better Regions funding as well as the Victorian Government for $472,830 Female Friendly Facilities funding.

“I would also like to thank Cobram Roar for their generous contribution of $150,000 and Saputo Dairy Australia for their donation of $50,000 towards the building of this wonderful facility,” Cr Mustica said.

“This is a fantastic outcome for the Cobram community which has 10 Cobram Roar soccer teams and the almost 300 children that play in the junior league as well as servicing the netball and basketball teams.

“Cobram soccer has been a thriving sport for 60 plus years and for all this time the club has been operating without decent clubrooms and changing facilities.

“This was a much needed project which will enable the sport and the club to grow as well a promoting healthy, active and inclusive lifestyles.”
