Moira Shire Council’s Administrator Suzanna Sheed AM has been appointed Chair of the Goulburn Valley (GV) Libraries Board. As a passionate advocate for libraries and our communities, Administrator Sheed AM brings a wealth of experience into the role.

“People visit libraries for a whole range of reasons – to seek information, to connect with others, and to collaborate. Our libraries are more than just buildings, they are gathering spaces for our communities,” said Ms Sheed.

“I am honoured to have been appointed as Chair of the GV Libraries Board and look forward to working alongside other members in the great work that they are doing to strengthen our communities through access to information, resources, programming, and collaborative spaces.”

GV Libraries CEO, Felicity Macchion, said that she is “excited to have Administrator Suzanna Sheed AM as our new Chair. Suzanna’s dedication to our community and the vision for the future of libraries align perfectly with our goals at GV Libraries. I look forward to working closely with Suzanna and the entire Board to continue our important work serving the Goulburn Valley community."

“I would also like to thank the outgoing Chair, Louise Mitchell from Greater Shepparton City Council, who took on the role over 12 months ago,” said Ms Macchion.

GV Libraries operates library services in the Greater Shepparton, Moira and Strathbogie local government areas, serving a population of 107,954 people. Representatives from all three local government areas make up the independent Board, which is responsible for policy development, strategic and corporate planning, and service evaluation of the organisation, ensuring that our libraries remain dynamic spaces for learning, cultural enrichment and community connection.

Greater Shepparton City Council Councillor Greg James is Deputy Chair of the Board.
