So much to explore on the Sun Country Discovery Weekend

Moira Shire residents are invited to take part in the upcoming Sun Country Discovery Weekend being held on 24 and 25 July at tourist spots right across the shire.
Over this weekend, residents can enjoy scrumptious local produce, coffee, wine, golfing packages, cactus tours and more – all from just $1
Deputy Mayor Julie Brooks said she was looking forward to the weekend and encouraged all residents to save the date.
“Tourism operators and retail outlets from Bundalong to Barmah have got on board and are offering attractions, products and experiences from just $1,” Cr Brooks said.
“We are committed to helping our communities to not only recover from the continuing COVID pandemic, but thrive, both economically and socially.
“This weekend is a fantastic chance to explore our own backyard.
“It is also a great opportunity to have fun experiences, catch up with family and friends, and get out and about our beautiful part of Sun Country on the Murray.”
Cr Brooks said there were also prizes on offer as an incentive for people to visit more than one place.
“You can get your entry forms at participating businesses, just go to our website for the list,” she said.
“There will also be a special feature in the local newspapers just prior to the weekend which has all the details as well as an entry form, so watch out for that.
“You can also pick up an entry form from your local Tourism Information Centre.
“To go in the draw to win a prize, simply visit at least four participating businesses, get a stamp on your entry form and then leave the completed form at your last destination.
“Entries will be collected at the conclusion of the weekend and we will draw the winners on 9 August.
“Prizes include a $200 Why Leave Town Gift Card, a $100 Resort Voucher proudly sponsored by The Sebel Yarrawonga, and a $50 Why Leave Town Gift Card.”
