“We are pleased to have been allocated $76,600 in the Victorian Government’s Community Safety Infrastructure Grant program for our project, Operation Luminous. “Operation Luminous will light up Moira Shire’s parks and newly activated public precincts – places that have had numerous requests for maintenance due to vandalism and graffiti. “Lights will be installed at the following locations –

•Train Park, Picola

•Newman Square walkway, Quinn Street, Numurkah

•Memorial Park and toilet block, Elizabeth Street, Nathalia

•Levings Park, Queen Street, Cobram

•Federation Park, Cobram

•Numurkah Apex Park and Skate Park

•Yarrawonga Foreshore

“The lights will activate the areas, increase passive surveillance from passers-by and park/toilet users, increase community confidence and deter potential offenders."

“Residents will have a better sense of safety as they will be able to better observe their surroundings.”
