Government restrictions on the use of community facilities are easing and we know people are eager to start using these buildings again for activities including committee meetings, sport, centre-based programs and social gatherings.
Under guidance from the Department of Health and Human Services, we have opened all Council-owned or managed buildings and developed a COVID-19 Safe Plan to support a safe approach to use for all groups, organisations and individuals.
Users must read and then complete a checklist, as part of the COVID-19 Safe Plan, for each activity or facility use and have it readily available upon request by Council staff or any other enforcement agency.
All users must also comply with government restricted activity directions, comply with all additional guidelines provided by their governing body or sporting association, practice physical distancing by staying 1.5m away from others, practise good hygiene and stay home if they are feeling unwell.
Access and use of Council buildings is provided in good faith, however it is the responsibility of users to ensure they comply with all relevant restrictions, regulations and guidelines.
In addition to Council buildings, we have now opened our playgrounds, barbecues, outdoor gym equipment and skate parks throughout the shire.
These areas are used by a variety of people and it is simply not possible to clean the equipment after each use so it is vitally important we all exercise good hygiene practices before, during and after using this equipment.
Our Customer Service Centre in Cobram is now open.
The opening hours are restricted to 10am – 3pm and will be for payments and general enquiries only.
We have strict guidelines in place to maintain the health and wellbeing of our team and our community.
There is a maximum of four customers allowed inside the Customer Service area at one time and we are asking people to please stay home if they are feeling unwell.
The Yarrawonga Customer Service Centre will remain closed until further notice due to distancing requirements.
