Australia day – we’re all part of the story

An array of Australia Day celebrations will be held on Tuesday 26 January to recognise Australia Day across the shire.

Mayor Libro Mustica encourages everyone to come along and celebrate the achievements of our citizens after a trying year of bushfires and the COVID pandemic.

“Australia Day is a time for us to reflect on the last 12 months, acknowledge our achievement’s and come together as a community to share our stories,” Cr Mustica said.

“Events will be held in Barmah, Cobram, Katamatite, Nathalia, Numurkah, Tungamah/St James and Yarrawonga which will include the official presentations of local Australia Day award winners for 2021.”

Events being held in Moira Shire on Tuesday 26 January 2021 are listed below.

All events will have a free community barbecue, community activities and award presentations.

Barmah – 8am; Jack Edwards Reserve – corner of Evans and Murray streets.

Cobram – 9am; Cobram & District War Memorial – Punt Road.

Katamatite – 8am; Police Paddock – corner of Foy and Beek streets.

Nathalia – 6pm; Recreation Reserve – Park Street.

Numurkah – 8am; Newman Square – corner of Quinn and Melville streets.

Tungamah/St James – 8am; Lions Park – Boyd Street, Tungamah.

Yarrawonga – 7.15am; Kennedy Park – Murphy Street.
