Your chance to have a say in the first round of community feedback for Moira Shire’s Aquatic Strategy is closing on Wednesday 31 January so make sure you visit our website to fill out the survey.

This is the first round of public consultation for the proposed Aquatic Strategy with more opportunities to follow in coming months.

Manager Community Development Georgia Hills said Moira Shire was unique in that it has a variety of natural water ways with very popular swimming spots such as the river system, Thompson’s Beach in Cobram and Lake Mulwala in Yarrawonga.

"The survey kicks off the consultation process and so far we have received more than 300 responses which is wonderful," Ms Hills said.

"Your feedback will help us understand and plan for the next 30 years on the types of aquatic facilities and services we may need for our community.

"This process is not about developing a wish list, it’s about understanding the community’s future needs.

"The proposed Aquatic Strategy will focus on achieving a balance between the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s community and how, as a community, we can fund them."

There are a variety of ways residents can leave feedback during the first round of public consultation for the proposed Aquatic Strategy, visit www.moira.vic.gov.au and fill out the survey online, email your thoughts to info@moira.vic.gov.au or pick up a hardcopy of the survey from any of our Service Centres or local aquatic facilities.
