Stage 1 works complete
Council is currently investigating the next hases of the project, which aim to improve road pavement, drainage infrastructure, and pedestrian access across Paterson and Russell Streets.
Stage 1 was successful in receiving a $400,000 funding through the Local Community and Regional Infrastructure program from the Federal Government. The total cost of works for Stage 1 is estimated to $450,000.
Stage 1 works focused on upgrading the stormwater basin to improve flood resilience and included:
- Expansion of the basin from 4ML to 9.4ML
- Construction of a high-flow spillway
- Upgrade of the pump outlet
- Removal of vegetation and planting of new indigenous streetscape
- Traffic management to ensure community safety during works

BR Excavations have been successfully awarded the contract for the Stage 1 works which will include upgrading the basin, and road and drainage improvements.
