Yarrawonga is one of Victoria's fastest growing regional towns with an active sports community.

The Multisport Stadium will provide an exciting new facility for year round participation in sports and activities for all ages, abilities and interests.

The initial build will be for a modern 2-court facility that will service the entire community with the ability to support basketball, netball, badminton, table tennis and volleyball, as well as the evolving formats of futsal, additional fitness classes and community activities.

Stage 1 includes entrance foyer, cafe, kitchen, tournament office, meeting room, toilets and showers, multipurpose room, umpire rooms, first aid room, changing place and four changerooms, each include a fully accessible toilet and shower and of course two multipurpose courts with seating.

The changerooms are designed so that two are accessible from the outside so that netball and other sports are able to utilise these. For large tournaments in the stadium, all four changerooms will be accessible.

This project is jointly funded by Moira Shire Council, the Australian Government Community Development Grants Programme, and the Victorian Government Local Sports Infrastructure fund and a low interest 2020-21 Community Sports Infrastructure Loan and the Yarrawonga-Mulwala Basketball Association.

Future Development Plans
The proposed stages will follow the growth and demand of the township of Yarrawonga and Council will investigate the need for further development of the stadium in the future.
Stage 2: The possibility to include an indoor aquatic facility with changerooms, toilets and showers.
Stage 3: The possibility to include two additional multisport courts.

Latest Updates

December 2025

Moretto Building has been working hard since being awarded the design and construct tender for the Yarrawonga Multisport Stadium. Concept designs and initial investigations are complete, and onsite civil works have begun, including drainage basin and pipe installation. Construction drawings are nearing completion, with major works expected to start in 2026.

March 2025

Moira Shire Council has appointed Moretto Building to deliver the major Yarrawonga Multisport Stadium project, a key milestone toward construction. The stadium will provide modern facilities for a range of sports and community activities.

Tender applications for design and construction of the Yarrawonga Multisport Stadium are now closed. A detailed assesment process will be underway and announcement on the successfull tenderer will be made in 2025.
