Moira Shire is set to receive a major investment in local sports and recreation facilities with the commencement of the Waaia Recreation Reserve Netball/Tennis Court Upgrade. This project is made possible by funding from the Sport & Recreation Victoria 'Regional Communities Sporting Infrastructure Fund - Women and Girls Facilities'.

The project will deliver two brand-new, fit-for-purpose netball courts with state of the art LED lighting, player and official shelters, an effective drainage system, secure and durable perimetre fencing and high-quality goal posts.

These upgrades will not only enhance the sporting experience for players, officials, and spectators but will also create a safer, more accessible environment for the community.

The project began in November 2025, with completion anticipated by early 2026.
