Direct Debit - Property Rates only

Welcome to the easy way to ensure your Council Rates and Charges are paid on time every year. By using Moira Shire Council Direct Debit to pay your property rates, you will write less cheques and save time with other electronic payment methods.

By completing the Direct Debit Authority Form(PDF, 149KB), you will nominate a suitable account with your Bank, Credit Union or Building Society (if you are not sure whether your account is suitable check with your financial institution). Your rates amount for the payment method nominated by you will be debited to your account on the due date.

Council now offer payments by the normal four quarterly instalments or ten monthly instalments.

Each year you will receive your annual property rate notice which will detail dates and amounts payable. Council will debit your account in line with your arrangement. You will not need to complete a fresh application each year unless you wish to change your payment method.

To ensure your account is not overdrawn council will send an SMS message to your nominated mobile phone number. To achieve this you will need to provide your mobile phone number on the Direct Debit Application Form.

The Direct Debit Authority is an ongoing authority.

You can terminate this Direct Debit Authority at any time by advising Council in writing not less than 7 days before the next scheduled debit drawing.
