We asked Councillor Andrew Goldman the following:
1. What is your connection to Moira?
For the past 48 years I have lived and grown in the Moira Shire. I was educated, then married, here and have a supporting family living in the Moira community. I also have a successful business in the area.
2. What do you think is the greatest strength of the Moira community?
The people and families are our greatest strength. With the unforeseeable changing climate, our farmers and their families are constantly being challenged to sustain, adapt and cultivate new methods for the successful agriculture and business of food production and industry.
3. What made you run for Council?
I have been in the business of excavation for 18 years, providing essential infrastructure to the Moira Shire. The business expertise that I have gained will be able to provide and assist the Council with building and planning of future infrastructure and projects, for the benefit of our community.
4. What do you hope to achieve in your term as a Moira Shire Councillor?
I would like to bring more business opportunities to the major towns in our community. I have a vision to offer affordable land and easy access for business development. I want to provide an incentive for new companies and businesses to thrive in the area, which will provide job opportunities and economic growth for the people of the Moira Shire.
5. What is your favourite thing to do in Moira
I enjoy dining out and socialising with family and friends in the Moira Shire.
