We asked Councillor John Beitzel the following:
1. What is your connection to Moira?
I'm a born and bred Numurkah resident. I attended the local schools and played footy and other sports locally as well. I have had three very different businesses in Numurkah; a butcher, a childcare centre and now a rural plumbing business.
2. What do you think is the greatest strength of the Moira Community?
Our community is our greatest strength, our willingness to participate in community groups and different activities, we all get behind one another. Our resilience is incredible, we have grown stronger and bound together through many emergencies in local times in floods, fires and tornados.
3. What made you decide to run for Council?
I have a passion for economic development and l enjoy seeing the benefits that filter into our community and the benefits our community receive. Moira needed a younger voice and a business voice to be heard.
4. What do you hope to achieve in your term as a Moira Shire Councillor?
I want to ensure that Moira Shire continues to be a great place to live with a thriving local economy and a well-run council.
