As part of the Resilient Rural Women Forum series, Moira Shire Council invites everyone to start a conversation and come along to our 16 Days of Activism event. This free community breakfast will be held on Thursday 28 November beginning at 7am at the Cobram Civic Centre and will feature key note speaker Martine Harte from Engaging Women. Martine is a dedicated gender equality and diversity advocate who founded Engaging Women to elevate the voices of women through publishing, an all-women speakers offering and advisory services. Mayor Libro Mustica said the breakfast was all about celebrating resilient rural women and starting the conversation to recognise that everyone has a role to play in building strong communities and workplaces that actively promote gender equality. If we can start the conversation about simple actions we can all take, we canchange the culture that allows inequality to occur, Cr Mustica said. Inequality is not inevitable; it is preventable. Talk to your families, schools, communities and workplaces. Together, our message will be amplified and our voices heard.
