We are exploring ways to make Moira Shire more dog friendly.

Dogs can currently be exercised off leash in daylight hours at showgrounds and football grounds at recreation reserves across Moira Shire.
Dogs must be in the presence of the owner.  The off leash provisions do not apply when an organised sporting event or similar activity is in progress.  During these events dogs must on a leash.

In addition to these open off-leash areas we have received a number of requests to also provide confined off-leash areas for dogs (fully fenced dog parks). So Council has developed a policy to guide the creation and management of dog off-leash areas (open and fully fenced) across the shire.

We appreciated you taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences in our first consultation and we have now used that information to create a Dog Off-Leash Area Policy to help guide the development of off-leash areas in Moira Shire.
