The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that starts on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.

It was started by the Women’s Global Leadership Institute in 1991.

The global theme for this year’s campaign is ‘Orange the world: End violence against women now!’

In Australia, on average, 1 women is murdered by a current or former partner each week, and 1 in 2 women has experienced sexual harassment (KPMG 2016).

Moira Shire Council is committed to preventing violence against women.

The Moira Shire Council is hosting an online Family Violence Webinar, with support from DFFH, Victoria Police, WHGNE and Women with Disabilities Victoria.

The webinar will be held on Wednesday December 1 2021 at 11am for 1 hour, inclusive of 15min question time from the audience.
