Preparing for Climate Change - Adaptation Action Plan
Moira Shire Council has released its Preparing for Climate Change in the Moira Shire - Adaptation Action Plan report for public inspection and comment.
Report
The report is the first from Council's Climate Change Investigation and provides detailed information about the impacts, issues and challenges around climate change in North Eastern Victoria. It takes a strategic approach to this wealth of information and aims to:
- assess risks for the Moira Shire due to projected climate change;
- identify adaptation options to address priority risks for their assets, infrastructure and service delivery; and
- propose measures that will support development of capacity to adapt with climate change within Moira Shire.
You can download a copy of the report and hard copies are on display at Council service centers in Cobram, Yarrawonga, Numurkah and Nathalia. All hard copy requests should be directed to the Sustainability Awareness Officer.
Submissions to assist Council in the use and implementation of the adaptation action plan were sought in response to the report, to assist in gauging community perception of the issue.
The submission period closed Wednesday 13 October 2010.
