Barry Street Nathalia Part Road Discontinuance Proposal

Unmade Road Reserve - Barry Street, between Park Street & Pelling Street


Moira Shire Council (“Council”) is considering discontinuing the unmade road reserve in Barry Street, Nathalia (between Park and Pelling Streets) under Section 12 of the Road Management Act 2004 and clause 3 Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1989 (“the proposal”).

A map showing the location of the proposal is available on our website at and at our Cobram and Yarrawonga Service Centres and Barmah Heritage Centre, Nathalia.

Following consideration of submissions Council may resolve not to discontinue the Road or to discontinue the Road. If the Road is discontinued the land would revert to unused Crown Land and could be made available by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) for use by St Mary of the Angels Secondary College.

How to make a submission

Submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act. All submissions received in writing by 5pm Friday 11 August 2017 will be considered

You must indicate in your submission if you or your nominee would like to speak in support of your submission at a Committee of Council meeting commencing at 3:30pm on Wednesday 16 August 2017 at the Civic Centre, Cobram

Copies of submissions (including submitters’ names and addresses) will be made available at the Council or Special Council meeting at which the above proposal will be considered. Council is also required to make submissions available for public inspection for a period of twelve months.
