Grants of up to $15,000 are available for Moira Shire community groups to help fund projects or events.
Applications for Moira Shire Council’s 2016/17 Community and Events Grants are now open and close on Friday 2 December.
Moira Shire General Manager Corporate Leanne Mulcahy said the grants are a great way to kick start community-minded initiatives.
"Community grants help facilitate projects which benefit the community," she said.
"We had a strong turn out at our Grants information sessions earlier this year and applications are now open."
Examples of the types of projects eligible for funding include accessibility improvements, playgrounds, building upgrades or supporting an event.
"We encourage applications which have substantial community benefit, including those which support female participation in sport, all abilities access and are sustainable," Ms Mulcahy said.
