Makeover your garden with Moira's new waste app
Publish Date: 29/11/2016
To celebrate the launch of its new free Waste Management in Moira app, Moira Shire Council is giving away a garden makeover to one lucky winner who downloads the app before 16 December 2016.
Moira Shire Council Mayor Gary Cleveland said this is a great example of how Moira Council is continuing to provide innovative waste management services to its residents.
“If you’re like me and can’t remember which bin to put out each week – one click of the app and it tells you – you can even set a reminder.
“And if there are changes to the bin collection schedule, such as over Christmas or Easter, the app will send you a notification to let you know the change.
The app also provides a list of Moira Shire’s transfer stations and their opening hours and other features including the ability to report littering.
Mayor Cleveland is encouraging residents to enter the competition to win a garden makeover.
“The winner will receive a garden makeover to the value of $1000. The runner up will take home a new smartphone.
“To enter residents will need to take a photo of the garden they want to makeover via the report function of the Waste Management in Moira App and provide their contact details.”
iPads are available at Council’s Customer Service Centres in Cobram, Yarrawonga, Numurkah and Nathalia for residents who do not have access to a smart phone or tablet but still wish to enter.
Conditions apply, for example the garden must be located within Moira Shire. For full information on how to enter and to view the competition terms and conditions visit the Waste Management in Moira app page.
Entries close at noon on Friday 16 December 2016 with the winner drawn at 2pm that afternoon.
The Waste Management in Moira app is now available free from the Apple App Store and Google Play store. To download the app simply search the key word ‘Moira’ or ‘Waste Management in Moira’.
