Moira Shire Council is offering business owners a unique opportunity to participate in a cutting edge program designed to help them prosper and grow.
Announcing the launch of the 2017 Business Scholarship Program, Moira Shire Mayor Gary Cleveland said Council was pleased to play a role in assisting small business grow.
Mayor Cleveland said the program would be launched at the Butler’s Pantry, Numurkah, on Tuesday 16 August, with a breakfast from 7.30-9.30am.
“Creating a profitable small business isn’t an easy task but when you consider how important small business is to our region, we believe it’s very important that Council plays an active role in assisting local entrepreneurs,” Mayor Cleveland said.
“The Business Scholarship program is now in its third year and has produced very positive results for the business owners that have been involved. One of the major outcomes of the program is business growth leading to the employment of new staff.”
The Moira Shire Small Business Transformation Program is open to any Moira Shire-based business that has been trading for at least two years.
“The successful participants will participate in a six month program where they will receive expert mentoring on how to accelerate the growth of their business,” Mayor Cleveland said.
The program facilitator is Paul McCarthy, known as Australia’s RockStar Marketer.
Mr McCarthy said if small businesses were to prosper and grow they need to look at improving in several areas, including:
- Their ability to refine their marketing message to ensure it grabs attention;
- Know how to create interest in their offering and make it easy for a customer to make a deeper connection with the business; and
- Ensure they establish a sequential marketing strategy to nurture the customer until they were ready to buy.
Mr McCarthy will speak at the launch.
