Notice of Intention to Review Local Law Meeting Procedure 2007
Moira Shire Council is undertaking a review of its Local Law Meeting Procedures 2007 in accordance with the Local Government Act 1989.
The purpose of the Local Law is to:
- specify the process for the election of the Mayor;
- establish procedures for the general conduct of Council, Section 86 and Advisory Committee meetings;
- provide guidance for public interaction in Council meetings; and
- prescribe penalties for breaches of the local law.
A copy of the draft Local Law and an explanatory document may be found on the Council’s website and at our service centres in Cobram and Yarrawonga.
Any person wishing to make a submission in respect of the draft Local Law must do so in writing no later than close of business on Thursday 27 April 2017.

A person who wishes to address Council in respect to their submission must indicate in writing at the time of lodging the submission. A committee of Council meeting to hear submissions will commence at 5pm Wednesday 10 May 2017 at the Civic Centre, Cobram.
