Many of Moira Shire’s buildings, gardens, trees or precincts are historically significant and are worth conserving.
In a bid to preserve these sites for generations to come we employed a heritage advisor to undertake a Heritage Study of our culturally important places in 2007.
The study informed the proposed amendment to our Heritage Overlay.

We are proposing to amend our Heritage Overlay to increase the number of our historically significant buildings, precincts, cemeteries and war memorials that we preserve and protect.
