Moira Shire Council is responsible for providing, maintaining and developing a diverse range of assets to serve the urban and rural communities in Moira Shire including roads, parks, gardens and reserves, street trees, footpaths, drains, council buildings, bridges, traffic signs and lights.
Each year Council commits millions of dollars from its annual budget to construct, maintain and upgrade these assets. Additional funding is sourced from Grants and via special charge schemes.
The Infrastructure Planning department is responsible for the design, development and construction of new, upgraded and expanded assets.
The Operations department provide staff, plant and equipment to undertake the inspection, maintenance and renewal of these assets.
The Assets department develop and maintain systems that ensure Council's assets are:
- safe for use by the current generation (Liability Management)
- are preserved for use by future generations (Asset Stewardship)
