Environment Sustainability Strategy
Moira Shire Council has developed an Environment Sustainability Strategy, which Council endorsed at the 17 September 2012 meeting.
The ESS is a key strategic document that will provide clear guidance and direction to Council about environmental sustainability policies, roles and responsibilities. This includes actions Council can take relevant to its operations and services and what it can do to support residents and community groups to transition to a more sustainable lifestyle. In general the ESS has been prepared to:
- reflect the changing priorities of Council and the community with respect to environmental sustainability issues;
- build upon the achievements of the past six years with the aim to further improve environmental performance; and
- deliver a proactive and integrated approach to environmental sustainability and benchmark, measure and monitor Council’s performance.
