Your support is sought in cutting and removing potential fire hazards from your property before 1 November in each year. Each ratepayer and resident is requested to make it their responsibility to protect both their property and that of others by ensuring that their properties are properly cleared prior to the summer season.
Long grass adjacent to houses and outbuildings should be cut close to ground level and any trees overhanging roofs should be lopped and spouting cleaned of both debris and leaves.
The lighting of a fire in a residential area is prohibited throughout the year.
During the declared fire danger period, a Permit to Burn in the rural area for farming purposes, must be obtained before any fire may be lit in the open. No fire may be lit on a day of Total Fire Ban.
