Careers in Council
Few organisations provide a range of services as varied as Council, and because of this there are so many prospects for skills development and workforce retention within rural areas.
The customary ‘roads, rates and rubbish’ function of local councils has long passed. While these key functions still form much of the core work requirements of councils, most councils are now providing of a number of ‘new’ services, many of which are community based and require much higher levels of skills and complexity among the workforce.
Through the implementation of a booklet/brochure containing information on the varying positions throughout the organisation, we aim to showcase the versatility of careers within Local Government, more specifically to Moira Shire Council, in a view to encourage Moira as an employer of choice.
