Council Meetings

Ordinary Council Meetings are held each month on advertised dates (usually a Wednesday) starting at 6pm and are held throughout the shire.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the meetings; however, Council sometimes resolves to close a section of the meeting to the public, where it needs to consider matters of a confidential nature.

Special Council Meetings are sometimes called to deal with specific matters needing attention before the next scheduled ordinary meeting of Council and for the annual election of Mayor.

Chairperson

The Mayor chairs each Council meeting; however, if for any reason the Mayor is unable to attend a Council meeting, the Council must appoint another Councillor to act as Chairperson for that meeting.

Public Question Time

Members of the public are welcome to attend the meetings. Public question time provides an opportunity for residents and ratepayers to submit questions in writing for consideration at a Council meeting.
