Citizen of the Year

Des has been an active voluntary member of the community for more than 30 years.

Des joined the SES in 1988 and in 1993 became Controller in charge of the entire unit, which was responsible for 16 emergency service personnel.

He continually seeks ways to further improve the unit’s resources.

Des is Treasurer of the Yarrawonga/Mulwala RSL sub-branch, Cobram/Yarrawonga Legacy Group and Mulwala Elderly Citizens Village Corporation. He is also Director of the Lake Mulwala Sports Club.
