Yarrawonga Aerodrome
The Yarrawonga Aerodrome caters for various small aircraft and includes 48 hangar sites which are privately owned. The Aerodrome development also includes 6 privately owned residential allotments with direct access to taxiways.
Council is currently undertaking with assistance from the State Government an $810,000 upgrade which includes:
- Construction of a new taxiway - Taxiway Charlie;
- Construction of additional aircraft parking facilities;
- Widening of the fuel lane; and
- Construction of a Terminal Building.
Council is investigating the creation of additional subdivisions to satisfy the demand for hangar sites and residential airparks.
Widening of the runway is planned for 2011/12.
Many successful Aircraft Service businesses operate from the hangar sites, including:
- pilot training,
- aircraft maintenance,
- aircraft refurbishment and painting,
- pilot supplies, and
- hangarage
