Child Restraint Loan Scheme

Moira Shire Council has a Child Restraint Loan Scheme operating across the Shire. There are a limited number of child restraints (Safe ‘n’ Sound Baby Safety Capsules) available  for hire. There is a hire fee of $44 (including GST) plus $50 deposit. The deposit is refundable on the child restraint being returned in good condition and all parts included by the return date.

Obligations of Hirer

• The child restraint will be fitted and used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Do not tamper with or deface the child restraint (including any labels and instructions on it).
• Take reasonable care in using the child restraint and will not subject any of its parts or accessories to dry cleaning.
• Ensure that the child restraint is fitted and used so that it does not come into contact with the rear of the front seat of the vehicle.
• Do not fit the child restraint to any vehicle except a vehicle described in this agreement and will not sublet the restraint to another person.
• Immediately notify Moira Shire Council if the hirer changes address during the hire period. Upon failure to do so Moira Shire Council may verify my address through the Vic Roads Registration and Licence Data Base.
• If the child restraint is returned in a damaged condition the hirer will be liable to pay the Moira Shire Council the cost of any necessary repairs and replacement parts except where the damage is due to a collision notified by me under Point 8 in the Conditions of Hire.
