Health businesses including hairdressers, beauty salons, tattooists, ear-piercing, colonic irrigation and any other business involving skin penetration activities must be registered with their local council in accordance with the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 and the Public Health and Wellbeing Regulations 2009.
If you are opening, buying or selling a health premises, you will require some of the following permits.
Permits may also be required from Council's Planning and Building Departments depending on the type of business and the changes you may be making. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all appropriate permits have been sought.
All health premises fees are available upon application.
Transfer of registration fees are 50% of the annual registration fee.
Pre-purchase inspections are charged at 50% of the annual registration fee.
